We are delighted to announce that Jus Mundi is stepping up to Platinum Sponsor of the Sports Arbitration Moot (SAM) for our sixth edition, building on a partnership that has been at the heart of the SAM since its very first edition in 2021.

For us, this is much more than a renewal of an existing partnership. It is a continuation of a relationship that has grown alongside the SAM and, this year, a shared commitment to raising the bar even further for our participants.

Jus Mundi has been partnering with us since our first year, allowing our students to access their Legal Research database. We strongly believe their database is an invaluable resource for our students as they research their cases, build their arguments and prepare for their oral hearings, and this is only confirmed by all the positive feedback we keep on receiving from participants year after year. We are proud to be taking this partnership even further and offer our students exclusive access to their tools.

Our participants will receive complimentary and exclusive access to Jus Mundi’s sports arbitration database throughout the competition, starting from the SAM Camp and continuing through the Online General Rounds. The Best 16 teams qualifying for the Elimination Rounds will also retain access as they prepare to compete in the in-person phase.

This means that students from universities around the world will have extended access to the same specialised legal research resources used by practitioners in the field, helping them build their arguments and deepen their understanding of sports arbitration throughout their SAM journey.

Preparing our students for the future of legal practice

Our partnership with Jus Mundi will continue its introduction of Jus AI, Jus Mundi’s suite of AI assistants designed for arbitration practitioners and international lawyers. Participants will have complimentary access to Jus AI during the SAM Camp and the Online General Rounds, giving them the opportunity to explore how AI can support legal research and preparation in practice.

The tools available to lawyers are evolving rapidly, and preparing the next generation of sports lawyers means not only teaching them how to build strong legal arguments, but also giving them the skills to navigate new technologies critically and effectively.

As legal research becomes increasingly assisted by AI, we believe that strong advocacy will become even more important. The ability to assess information, develop a persuasive position and defend it orally before a panel of arbitrators remains at the very heart of what we seek to develop through the SAM.

Jus Mundi’s continued support is an important part of our mission to shape the next generation of sports arbitration practitioners. By making specialised research resources and emerging legal technology accessible to students, this partnership helps us ensure that our mooties can learn, compete and develop wherever in the world they are participating from.

We are therefore particularly proud to welcome Jus Mundi as a Platinum Sponsor for the SAM 2027 and grateful for their continued trust in the SAM.

We cannot wait to see what the teams will do with these tools in the SAM 2027!
